Airlift box office collections: Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur’s film earns Rs 12.35 cr. on opening day

Superstar Akshay Kumar’s “Airlift” collected Rs. 12.35 cr. on its opening day. The film, which is about the evacuation of Indians during the 1990 invasion of Kuwait by Iraq has been appreciated by the fans and critics alike. (Read: Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 box earns Rs 8.15 cr. on opening day )

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the first day collections of the film. (Read: Airlift movie review)

Talking about the film Indian Express critic Shubhra Gupta wrote: “It is the sort of awakening that shakes loose Katyal from his cocooned wealthy life, which he shares with his wife Amrita (Nimrat Kaur) and young daughter, forcing him to deal with a series of dangerous situations, and leading to the evacuation of more than a lakh Indians stuck between Saddam Hussain’s brutal forces and an alarmingly slow-to-take-heed Indian state.”
